Payroll and Benefits HR Generalist

Aduro Advisors is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll and Benefits HR Generalist to join their People Operations team. The role involves managing payroll, benefits, and leaves while providing exceptional support to enhance the employee experience.

Responsibilities

Process the multistate payroll for Aduro’s employees and respond to employee inquiries about benefits and payroll
Act as the primary point of contact for employee leave requests (FMLA, Disability, Parental Leave); managing intake, tracking documentation, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. This will be managed in partnership with the People Operations Business Partner (PBP) as needed
Own benefits administration, including 401k, medical, dental, vision, etc.: including processing enrollments, changes, and terminations, as well as supporting the annual Open Enrollment period
Serve as the first responder for general employee inquiries in the People Ops Inbox regarding payroll, leaves, benefits, HRIS updates, and other questions, escalating complex issues to the PBP when necessary
Assist in updating the Employee Handbook, policies, and internal People Ops SOPs to reflect current laws and company practices
Coordinate and track regular policy acknowledgments
Assist PBPs in coordinating and facilitating the onboarding process, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for all new hires (I-9 verification, equipment coordination, and orientation scheduling), including coordinating with Talent Acquisition, IT, hiring managers, etc
Assist with the offboarding process, including preparing separation agreements and notifying internal partners as needed
Maintain and update the HRIS with all employee changes to ensure 100% data accuracy. Changes include, promotions, pay, supervisor/organizational moves, etc
Generate weekly, monthly, and ad hoc People Operations reports (e.g., turnover, new hire, headcount, and engagement metrics) to support leadership decision-making
Conduct regular audits of personnel files and HRIS data to ensure compliance and accuracy
Maintain employee records, including HRIS file, employee files (electronic), pay rates, job classifications, etc

Required

You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in administering payroll and benefits across multiple US states
Are familiar and proficient in using HRIS platforms (we currently use Paylocity, but specific Paylocity experience is not required)
Are proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
Are proficient in payroll law and compliance and have a basic understanding of Federal employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA) and I-9 compliance requirements
You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, and you have a service mindset and enjoy interacting with the employees you serve
You pride yourself on accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple 'moving parts' simultaneously
