Manager, Supply Chain Operations (BHS)
Beacon Health System is seeking a Manager for Supply Chain Operations to oversee strategic and operational management of supply chain functions across the health system. This role involves managing a team, optimizing logistics, and ensuring effective resource utilization to support operational excellence.

Responsibilities
Directs the storage and distribution of sterile/non-sterile supplies, assets, and medical records, and oversees shipping/receiving functions across the Hospital and Health System
Develops, recommends, and implements strategic goals and objectives
Prepares and manages capital and operating budgets for assigned areas
Establishes and communicates policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations
Maintains effective relationships with user departments to ensure high service levels and inventory availability
Recruits, hires, trains, schedules, evaluates, and manages performance of assigned staff
Develops and maintains effective inventory and cost control systems for Health System-wide inventory
Establishes reorder points and inventory levels for supplies and equipment in collaboration with user departments
Ensures effective use of space and accuracy in inventory systems and procedures
Serves as a liaison with Purchasing to ensure smooth coordination of receiving, storage, and distribution functions
Assists with product backorders and coordinates clinically appropriate substitutions where needed
Utilizes reports and metrics, including inventory turns, slow-moving/obsolete inventory, non-catalog spend, and budget tracking to ensure department goals are met
Leads the health system’s courier transportation network to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective logistics
Optimizes fleet usage and transportation planning
Ensures daily operations meet safety, service level, and quality targets
Manages logistical support for internal relocations, expansions, closures, and special projects
Coordinates the delivery, licensing, and financing of Beacon vehicular assets
Serves as Logistics Chief for Emergency Preparedness in the absence of the Executive Director
Supports fair market value assessments and logistics coordination for acquisitions, mergers, and entity transitions
Completing other job-related assignments and special projects as directed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university
A minimum of three years of leadership experience in shipping/receiving or related area required
Thorough knowledge and solid understanding of the business unit; inventory control, storage and distribution, procurement, shipping and receiving
Strong experience and understanding of hospital-related automated inventory systems, personal computer spreadsheets and analytical tools, and hospital-related product knowledge
Well developed managerial, leadership skills and labor relations knowledge necessary to organize and manage the personnel and activities necessary to ensure the effective and safe storage and distribution of sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and records
Strong quantitative and analytical skills necessary to accomplish the responsibilities associated with the position; inventory/ par level analysis, economic order quantities, product flow, etc
Strong project management skills to take on large projects of planning, analyzing and reorganizing processes
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written to articulate ideas clearly and concisely with staff and user department
Well developed interpersonal skills necessary to effectively work with varied individuals, both internal and external to the organization
Physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position
Preferred
Five years of progressive supply chain management experience in a hospital related receiving and storage and distribution environment which includes demonstrated experience managing varied staff
