Responsibilities
Perform financial modeling and analytics using Python on large fixed income and mortgage datasets
Build, enhance, and maintain models related to cash flows, mortgage products, and financial instruments
Leverage Python to automate risk assessments, simulate loan performance, and manage datasets that exceed Excel’s capacity
Apply advanced techniques such as Monte Carlo simulations and forecasting models
Analyze, transform, and validate complex financial datasets
Integrate Python-based analytics with Excel where applicable
Translate analytical outputs into client-ready deliverables and presentations
Apply structured problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and process inefficiencies
Participate in presentations of findings and recommendations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and potentially guide junior analysts
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience using Python for financial modeling (required)
Experience working within financial services, capital markets, or consulting
Strong proficiency with Python libraries such as pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and data visualization tools
Experience modeling cash flows and complex financial datasets
Strong data analysis, documentation, and presentation skills
Background in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, or a related field
Preferred
Exposure to mortgage, fixed income, or structured finance data preferred
Experience with Git; Java exposure is a plus
Excellent planning and organizational skills
High attention to detail
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to resolve technical issues and manage analytical workflows
Experience coordinating or guiding project teams
Strong issue resolution and risk management mindset
