Business Development Manager

Responsibilities
Accountable for breaking in new sales opportunities with strategic business impact within market
Evaluates and handles the opportunities in terms of risk analysis and profitability in order to get investment approvals
Leads the team to ensure that deals are won in a profitable way
Directly responsible for creating and managing top level contacts within the customer's organisation
Sets global vision and strategy for marketing sub-function EG research
Sets global marketing direction for broad product category / BU. Leads BU marketing programme design
Leads Marketing function to support sales growth for multi-country region / small area. Significant revenue >€3bn programme spend >€40m
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Management experience across several functional areas or businesses
Mastery of a specific professional discipline combining deep knowledge of theory and practice or expertise across several different disciplines within a function
Command of content of sub function
Recognised thought leader
Typically requires 10-12 years extensive relevant experience and/or a graduate/postgraduate equivalent degree
PhD degree would normally be expected in R&D stream
