Responsibilities

Creates reports using PS Query, SAS, and other tools. Requires the ability to understand a complex set of data tables and data joins. Requires a high level of skill and knowledge about analytical tools as well as the vast variety of student and academic data at RIT. Uses advanced programming to analyze complex data structures
Provides leadership for reporting strategies and for the managing the reporting request process from beginning to end with an emphasis in providing accurate, timely and secure information to meet the needs of academic and administrative decision makers for the University. Provides expert technical consultation for academic departments and other functional divisions and units related to the use of SIS data (tables, queries, reports, etc.)
Responsible for developing and maintaining a data audit strategy to ensure that SIS data is captured and maintained accurately, follows policy and is securely maintained. Coordinates efforts to identify data integrity issues and seeks ways to reduce or eliminate them; facilitates the correction of data errors
Collaboratively works with Senior Associate Registrar to configure and implement the PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions and related applications
Assists in the development of appropriate documentation of PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions and creates and maintains test scripts used in regression testing critical to successful system upgrades and enhancements
Assist with the development and maintenance of the Registrar's secure electronic forms
Meets with internal and external stakeholders to gather and/or clarify requirements associated with development iterations and to perform status reporting. Performs detailed analysis and documentation of requirements to determine the best solution for meeting needs
Assist with all enrollment and degree data submissions to the National Student Clearinghouse used for compliance requirements with applicable Federal Student Financial Aid programs, and verification processes for third parties
Implements and oversees compliance with Information Security Standards outlined by the Institute Security Office as it relates to student information
Maintains and builds new components of the Registrar's Office website using content management system
Manages student employees and co-op students
Facilitate with Information Technology Services (ITS) the support for office computers. Ensures that computers have up-to-date security programs and patches installed
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a data management-related field, and two to three years of experience in a data management position using large datasets, software applications, and computer report writing skills; OR five to six years related experience
Demonstrated proficiency with data reporting writing, using tools such as PSQuery or SQL or statistical applications (such as SPSS or SAS) or equivalent software
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
Excellent organizational and management skills and ability to establish priorities
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive and FERPA protected student data with information security standards as a focus
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States

Preferred

Master's Degree and three to five years of experience in a data management position using large datasets, software applications, and computer report writing skills
Experience working with highly confidential information and maintaining security standards
Experience with student information systems, such as PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions including PS Query
Work experience in higher education
