Responsibilities
Demonstrates accountability for overall departmental operations and/or organization-wide functional responsibilities within the system to support achievement of organizational priorities

Oversees and manages Employee Health services including, pre-employment post-offer/transfer physical exams and screenings, drug screenings, illness screenings, vaccination verifications (Labs/Titers (Anti-HBs, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella) and Immunizations (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Influenza)), communicable disease screening, occupational exposures, ADA accommodation requests, indoor air quality assessments, ergonomic assessments, lift safety program, workplace violence prevention program, TB screening program, respiratory fit-testing program, and flu vaccination program
Jointly oversees the self-funded Workers’ Compensation case management program. Reviews workplace injuries and illnesses, claim submissions, case management, and ensures program objectives are achieved. Assists in implementing strategies and programs to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses. Assists in managing the state administration requirements with the Florida Division of Workers' Compensation and the Florida Self-Insurers Guaranty Association. Jointly oversees and manages the Third Party Claims Administrator (Commercial Risk Management), and Excess Policy Reinsurance broker (J. Smith Lanier) and carrier (Midwest Employers Casualty)
Provides leadership and assistance with the Team Member wellness programs. Promotes proactive employee health and wellness, and focuses on preventative medicine interventions. Oversees and manages the wellness education programs, the YMCA membership program, and facilitates quarterly wellness education initiatives which includes teaching the Harvard Healthy Eating Plate. Provides leadership and initiatives for preventing stress, burnout, and fatigue, and the emotional well-being of employees
Maintains effective records and required documentation enabling the hospital to demonstrate compliance with government regulations as well as accreditation standards. Maintains compliance with regulations including OSHA, ADA, EEOC, and HIPAA. Oversees the production and posting of the Annual OSHA 300A Logs, and the Annual OSHA electronic reporting
Participates in workplace safety and health internal committees which may include the employee safety sub-committee, environment of care subcommittees, and the disaster preparedness committee
Functions in the role of Registered Nurse within the Employee Health Clinic for Team Member services (e.g. injury appointments, evaluations, treatment plans, screenings, clinical assessments, post-offer physical examinations, immunizations, exposures, accommodation requests, etc.)
Records, updates, and maintains the Occupational Health Information and Medical Record System (Agility). Performs patient visit and volume analysis and aligns staffing schedules and resources. Obtains and updates Standing Orders with the Employee Health Medical Director. Creates and updates the department policies, procedures, and forms
Demonstrates responsible use of LRH's resources including people, finances, equipment and facilities
Qualification
Required
Associate Degree
Associate in Nursing required (Bachelor's in Nursing required within 2 years of start date)
Basic Cardiac Life Support
Ten (10) plus years of experience as a Registered Nurse
Managerial, Supervisory, or Team Leader experience as a Registered Nurse
Experience with health education
CPR Certified
RN License in the state of Florida
Obtain the Certified Occupational Health Nurse credential (from the American Board for Occupational Health Nurses) within 2 years of start date
Preferred
Registered Nurse experience in the occupational health, safety, and wellness fields
Managerial, Supervisory, or Team Leader experience in an Employee Health & Wellness Department
Master Degree
Master's in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field
Knowledge in the occupational health, safety, and workers' compensation fields
Experience with using electronic medical records
Knowledge and skills in the health and wellness field
Nurse Practitioner License in the State of Florida
