JHTV Compliance & Data Ops Specialist (Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures)

Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures (JHTV) supports the commercialization of university technology through technology licensing and venture creation. The JHTV Compliance & Data Ops Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of federally reportable intellectual property and licensing data while managing the full lifecycle of Bayh Dole/iEdison reporting and supporting data integrity initiatives.

Responsibilities

Manage end to end Bayh Dole/iEdison compliance, including timely and accurate entries, updates, and reporting
Interpret federal funding requirements, monitor deadlines, and maintain process controls
Handle patent related data, disclosures, correspondence, and quality checks that support accurate federal reporting
Assist with funding compliance reviews, internal audits, and ad hoc reporting needs
Steward key invention, patent, agreement, licensee, and utilization data across Inteum, Salesforce, and related systems
Conduct data audits, reconciliation, validation, and error detection activities
Partner with JHTV AI/automation leads to address systemic data issues and implement sustainable solutions
Identify workflow inefficiencies and contribute to automation/AI driven process improvements by translating business requirements into technical needs
Provide responsive support to faculty, staff, licensees, and internal teams on compliance and data accuracy questions
Deliver or support training on compliance workflows and data management best practices
Collaborate across JHTV teams to ensure shared understanding of compliance processes, system requirements, and high quality data practices

Required

Bachelor's Degree. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required (federal export controls)
Three years of administrative, data operations, compliance, or related experience
Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula

Preferred

Experience with iEdison, Bayh Dole reporting, or federal research compliance
Experience with Inteum, Salesforce, or similar IP/compliance systems
Background in data operations, quality assurance, or structured data workflows
Familiarity with automation tools or translating business requirements to development teams
