VP, Senior Supplier Risk Management Leader

Responsibilities
Lead the Senior Supplier Risk Management team by providing leadership, guidance, and support
Support Supplier Managers across all Synchrony Functions in identifying and managing supplier-related risks through a risk-based approach
Advance the Critical Supplier Program, ensuring regulatory compliance and ongoing program maturity in close partnership with the 2LOD and Operational Resiliency team
Identify and lead process improvement, simplification, and maturation initiatives within the Supplier Risk Management Program
Lead the SSRM team in supporting Identify and lead process improvement, simplification, and maturation initiatives within the Supplier Risk Management Program
Deliver timely and thorough program documentation (internal procedures and external facing job aids for Program Participants), training on ongoing monitoring expectations for Supplier Managers to promote consistent and disciplined execution
Lead the SSRM team in supporting program participants across the supplier lifecycle as advisors to identify and mitigate supplier risks
Lead training efforts for Supplier Managers on risk management expectations and ensure consistent execution across the organization
Develop and maintain a data-driven oversight and risk escalation framework that complies with regulatory standards
Collaborate with governance and control functions (Source to Pay partners, Legal, Operational Resiliency, Compliance, Operational Risk, Internal Audit)
Partner with the Technology Solution Admin team to define business requirements for enhancing and innovating the Supplier Risk Management Program
Ensure supplier risk management activities align with the Bank’s strategic vision, controllership, and execution strategy while continuously driving process improvements
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in compliance or risk management-related fields (e.g., Business Management, Juris Doctor, Risk Management, or Supply Chain Management)
Minimum 10 years of experience in a Compliance or Risk leadership role with a proven track record of effective leadership, including coaching, mentoring, and performance development
In lieu of a degree, minimum 14 years of experience in a Compliance or Risk leadership role with a proven track record of effective leadership, including coaching, mentoring, and performance development
Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
Preferred
Strong preference for certification such as Certified Regulatory Vendor Program Manager (CRVPM) or equivalent
Deep experience in second line oversight functions, vendor resiliency, exam and audit exposure, risk and issue management, and supplier compliance testing
Strong working knowledge of regulatory guidance pertaining to third-party compliance risk and risk control programs
Experience in developing business requirements for Technology Solutions to support Program enhancements, with a focus on simplification
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and present effectively at all organizational levels
Ability to innovate and find creative solutions to meet business goals
Demonstrated success in managing time in a varied and high pressure work environment
Proven experience partnering, collaborating, and influencing across a large multilayered organization at all levels
Quick decision making and problem-solving skills, able to execute and prioritize multiple large Enterprise projects
Experience with financial services regulatory expectations and have led a supplier management program
Action and detail-oriented, excellent organization and prioritization skills
Demonstrate strong compliance risk management mindset and behavior
Experience with business continuity and/or operational resilience efforts
Strong presentation and communication skills and experience interacting with senior business executives
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; the ability to effectively communicate workflow processes and policies with vendors will be an added advantage
Team player in fast-paced, high-energy environment
