Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports, summarizing museum financial activities
Manage the general ledger: record and track transactions to ensure accurate financial records
Analyze financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making
Oversee the purchasing process to ensure accurate financial tracking, cost efficiency, and compliance with company policies
Monitor grant and donation revenue, ensuring compliance with fund restrictions
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, including timely vendor payments and receipts tracking
Assist with payroll coordination, ensuring accurate and timely disbursements
Prepare journal entries, perform month-end and year-end close tasks
Collaborate with University of Tulsa HR and finance teams for audits and compliance
Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures for financial controls and data integrity

Required

Proficient in financial reporting, general ledger, and data analysis
Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Oracle/PeopleSoft) and MS Excel
Familiarity with nonprofit fund accounting and compliance associated with grants and donations
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving
Effective communication skills and team collaboration within academic/nonprofit frameworks
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit or museum settings

Preferred

Prior experience with fund accounting in arts, cultural institutions, or higher education
CPA or actively pursuing certification
Familiarity with IRS Form 990 reporting and nonprofit compliance
Ability to engage with cross-functional teams, including Development, Operations, and University finance
