Responsibilities
Responsible for answering the phones and assisting customers in support of the HIM customer service efforts
Facilitates retrieval and forwarding of electronic medical record documents received to the proper patient record, proper visit and proper provider including those for Medical Staff offices and for the acute care record
Scans batches as needed, maintaining document quality, integrity and compliance to appropriate medical record
Assures that the patient's medical records are indexed to the highest specificity
Performs quality review on scanned records, assuring that point of care scanning is accurate, legible, complete and compliant
Provides regular and timely reports to team/supervisor on department and individual measures
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma/GED
One year of medical office experience or currently enrolled in HIM equivalent study course
Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
Meticulous attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Proficiency in HIM systems/office software
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Deep understanding of HIPAA and HIM principles
Preferred
Health Information Management (HIM) work environment
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Cerner experience
