Responsibilities

Lead the design and optimization of chemical separation processes for mining and metallurgical feedstocks containing radioactive constituents
Develop and evaluate flowsheets incorporating solvent extraction, ion exchange, precipitation, or adsorption-based separations
Own mass balance development and process modeling for systems involving trace and regulated elements
Support scale-up from pilot to commercial operations with a focus on safety, robustness, and regulatory alignment
Define process operating envelopes and control strategies to ensure stable and compliant operation
Partner with environmental, health, and safety teams to support radiation control strategies and facility design considerations
Assess feedstock variability and its impact on process performance, waste streams, and downstream handling
Prepare technical documentation, design bases, and risk assessments for internal review and external stakeholders

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
8+ years of experience in chemical process engineering within mining, metals, nuclear-adjacent, or advanced materials industries
Demonstrated experience working with chemical systems involving radioactive or radiologically controlled materials
Strong background in aqueous chemistry, separations, and trace element behavior
Experience with solvent extraction, ion exchange, precipitation, or similar chemical separation technologies
Proven ability to scale complex or highly regulated processes to commercial operation
Familiarity with radiation safety principles, monitoring practices, and compliance-driven process design
Strong technical communication skills and comfort operating in high-accountability environments
