Guidance Nav & Control Engr - WA

Scalence L.L.C. is seeking a Senior Flight Control Systems Integration and Safety Engineer to support their team in Everett, Washington. The selected candidate will design, analyze, test, and certify flight control systems for large commercial aircraft, while also supporting production and fleet operations.

Responsibilities

Design, analyze, test, and certify flight control systems and components for large commercial aircraft
Support the production and fleet operations of flight control equipment
Decompose airplane level requirements into system and component level requirements
Participate in and/or lead system, component, and detail certification efforts, including creating required certification artifacts
Gather, define, and document system level requirements to support flight control and mission or trajectory requirements definition
Resolve requirement conflicts and perform analysis and design of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems
Participate in and/or lead system level and component level validation analysis and testing
Coordinate cross-functionally with avionics, pilot/crew operations, airplane safety, aerodynamics, systems software, suppliers, airline customers, and regulatory agencies
Develop solutions and disposition of issues to assure customer satisfaction

Required

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
5-7 years of technical experience working with Flight Controls
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a 'US Person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required

Preferred

5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with System Safety Analysis including failure modes and effects analysis; fault tree analysis; common cause analysis, and single & multiple failure analysis
Knowledge/Experience with ARP 4754 and ARP 4761
Experience with flight controls system and component architecture
Experience in requirements development, design, analysis, and verification & validation of flight control systems
Experience using requirement management tools such as IBM Rational DOORS
Experience with manufacturing regulated and certified, safety critical components and software
