Responsibilities
Lead the deployment of new automation technologies and ensure seamless integration with existing production lines to several sites
Analyze technical documentation and system schematics to validate compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations
Enhance existing machinery with robotic and control upgrades to improve throughput and reduce downtime
Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and control circuits
Maintain and update software libraries for control systems and ensure proper documentation of changes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for automated equipment
Design and configure user interfaces for machine control and monitoring
Lead and enforce cybersecurity standards for manufacturing systems
Work closely with IT, operations, and maintenance to align network and security policies across OT and IT environments
Supervise and mentor automation and controls engineers, providing training on equipment operation and diagnostics
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
Minimum 7 years in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment
Proficiency in PLC programming (preferably Allen-Bradley), HMI development, and robotic systems
Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies
Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work across departments
Ability to travel up to 15% across Massachusetts and select locations throughout North America
