Senior Director of Procurement - Healthcare

Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic partner to clinical, administrative, IT, and facilities leadership to drive enterprise‑wide procurement strategies that balance cost, quality, service levels, and clinical outcomes
Develop and execute the annual enterprise procurement strategy and operating plan aligned with organizational goals, approved budgets, growth initiatives, and cost‑reduction targets
Lead strategic sourcing activities across clinical, non‑clinical, IT, and capital categories, including renewal planning, RFx execution, sole‑source evaluations, and ongoing supplier negotiations
Design and execute negotiation strategies that maximize total value for the organization, including cost savings, quality improvements, service performance, contract flexibility, and risk mitigation
Proactively identify and deliver measurable savings opportunities through supplier consolidation, supplier optimization, standardization initiatives, and service enhancements
Provide leadership and oversight of vendor contract lifecycle management, ensuring timely renewals, compliance with regulatory and organizational standards, and alignment with enterprise strategies
Manages existing vendor contract expiration dates to ensure contracts meet current compliance standards. Coordinates with key stakeholders to determine best course of action for renewal or non-renewal
Establish and maintain strong supplier partnerships, engaging vendors to support organizational priorities, innovation initiatives, service improvements, and growth objectives
Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of the CAPEX sourcing function, including equipment, FF&E, and construction‑related procurement, in collaboration with Facilities, Operations, and Finance
Engage suppliers to define initiatives in support of the organization’s strategies and goals
Champion continuous improvement of procurement, sourcing, and procure‑to‑pay (P2P) processes, including participation in and leadership of technology implementations and system enhancements
Develop, implement, and standardize procurement policies, procedures, templates, and governance models across the organization’s portfolio of businesses
Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing procurement team, including talent acquisition, performance management, succession planning, and professional development
Oversee procurement communications, ensuring clear, consistent engagement with internal stakeholders and suppliers regarding strategy, processes, and performance expectations
Utilize data, analytics, and reporting to monitor spend, supplier performance, savings realization, and compliance, providing insights and recommendations to executive leadership
Manage the procurement department operating budget and support enterprise leaders with budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis related to procurement activities
Support organizational growth initiatives by partnering with Growth & Development, Operations, and Facilities teams on De Novo facilities, acquisitions, and start‑up supply chain needs
Collaborate with the IT leadership on technology sourcing, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and special initiatives
Partner with Outpatient Services leadership to support standardization and execution of clinic openings, including FF&E sourcing and related special projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance, or relevant degree required
Seven or more years of experience managing various RFx processes and negotiating product and service agreements is required
Five Or More Years' Supervisory/management Experience Required
Knowledge of legal terminology and language related to supplier and/or vendor agreements
Knowledge of the healthcare supply chain terminology
Demonstrate ability and experience in the understanding of standard business contract terms, identification of risk, and development of negotiating/risk mitigation strategies for client and supplier contracts
Experience working with information technology and proficiency with software packages including Excel and Word
Preferred
Accounting experience for supply chain operations, complex contracts, revenue recognition, and facility operations preferred
Previous behavioral healthcare experience preferred
CPA or CHFP a plus
