Senior Fund Accountant
Peachtree Group is a privately held real estate investment management firm that oversees various financial activities related to its funds. The Senior Fund Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting, maintaining records, and supporting audits and tax processes.
Responsibilities
Prepare financial reports, statements, and schedules as required by management and regulatory agencies
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
Conduct periodic reconciliations of fund cash balances to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
Assist in quarter-end closing activities such as preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and analyzing variances
Assist in annual audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors
Assist in annual tax returns by providing necessary documentation and explanations to tax consultants
Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by management to support decision-making processes
Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting the funds and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) regulations
Communicate with internal stakeholders, such as portfolio managers and investor relations teams, to address any accounting-related inquiries or issues. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and external service providers
Participate in ad hoc projects or initiatives related to fund accounting, such as system upgrades, process automation, or new product launches
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
2 - 4 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred but not required
Experience working in real estate investment, or related industry is a plus but not required
