Early Career Geoscientist/ Hydrologist

GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. is seeking a Geoscientist/ Hydrologist to support their Environmental and Water Resource practice in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The role involves working on various projects related to water exploration, environmental due diligence, and site characterization, while providing field data collection and documentation support.

Responsibilities

Complete field tasks and assist with the technical execution of projects
Perform soil, surface, and groundwater sampling for environmental or geotechnical analyses
Conduct on-site inspections of sample locations
Organize, inventory, and maintain supplies of sampling equipment and materials
Execute mechanical trouble shooting and repair of field sampling equipment and instrumentation
Gather data and other samples to be used in the preparation of hydrological and engineering deliverables
Field oversight and documentation of subsurface explorations and collection of data/samples for geotechnical or environmental analysis
Prepare reports summarizing data collected in the field
Compile and organize data collected by others
Handle field and office QA/QC responsibilities, including calibration of sampling equipment and instrumentation
Communicate effectively and efficiently with contractors, clients, and team members

Required

Bachelors or Master's Degree in Geology/ Geoscience or Hydrology, or Water Resources
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical capabilities
Ability to follow directions, and work independently or in a team setting
Strong communication skills, problem solving and organizational skills
Working knowledge of ArcGIS and other common programs such as Word and Excel
Availability to work Monday through Friday and occasional evenings and weekends as necessary to meet project demands
Have a valid driver's license and ability to travel

Preferred

1-3 years of related geologic experience
Professional state registration/licensure
