8+ years expGTS is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to provide technical leadership across multiple engineering efforts within an advanced InP Buried Heterostructure (BH) laser fabrication facility. This role involves leading process development, yield improvement, troubleshooting, and equipment qualification, while collaborating with cross-functional and global teams.

Responsibilities
Lead process development for new InP BH laser products, including photolithography, chemical etching, and thin-film deposition, utilizing DOE methodologies
Define and own process specifications, control plans, and qualification criteria, and lead successful transfer to production
Develop and implement advanced metrology and characterization methods to monitor and improve critical process parameters
Drive process stability, variation reduction, and yield improvement initiatives
Partner with product, device, and yield engineers to correlate in-line process data with final product yield and reliability
Identify critical process steps, lead root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
Serve as a technical authority for production issue troubleshooting
Collaborate with the equipment engineering team to maintain, optimize, and qualify process tools
Lead new equipment evaluation, installation, and process qualification
Author and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and technical reports
Mentor junior engineers and train technicians
Communicate effectively with Chinese-speaking teams, fabs, and suppliers
Qualification
Required
MS or PhD (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
8+ years of semiconductor fab experience, with demonstrated technical leadership
Strong expertise in photolithography, chemical etch, thin-film deposition, and metrology tools such as SEM, EDS
Proven success in process development, qualification, and sustaining engineering
Experience defining process specs and work instructions
Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken; reading/writing a plus)
Strong communication skills in English and Chinese
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Experience with InP-based photonic or laser device fabrication
Expertise in SPC, yield analysis, and high-volume manufacturing (HVM)
Experience working with Asia-based fabs or suppliers
Leadership in cross-functional engineering projects
