Interns will gain hands-on experience in the news department, working closely with professionals and learning various aspects of broadcasting.

Responsibilities

Gain a wide range of hands-on experience while interning in the news department
Work closely with producers, anchors, and reporters both in-house and out in the field
Help research and write stories
Contact sources for additional information if needed
Learn how the camera equipment works
Understand what camera shots matter
Learn how reporters gather new information to differentiate live shots
Function as field producers in coordinating interviews and attending press conferences
Shadow the producers in the control room
Try to produce a portion of the show themselves
Craft a reel with the help of anchors and reporters
