Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate CMM equipment (e.g., Zeiss, Mitutoyo, Hexagon, or similar) using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or other relevant software
Conduct detailed dimensional inspections of plastic injection-molded components, tooling, and assemblies per engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer requirements
Interpret and apply engineering blueprints, 3D CAD models, and technical specifications to inspection processes
Maintain, verify, and calibrate measurement equipment to ensure accuracy and traceability
Generate and document First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), PPAP documentation, and other quality control reports
Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and tool room teams to identify and resolve dimensional or process-related quality issues
Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing data and recommending process adjustments or improvements
Maintain a clean, organized inspection area and follow all company safety policies and procedures

Required

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree or technical training preferred)
Minimum 3 years of experience in dimensional inspection or CMM programming, preferably in an injection molding or precision manufacturing environment
Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS, or equivalent)
Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and metrology principles
Experience with measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, height gauges, vision systems, etc.)
Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team

Preferred

Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other quality management systems
Background in plastic part dimensional control or mold qualification processes
