The intern will work on implementing mathematical approaches, conducting statistical analysis, and building data processing and visualization tools to support critical contracts and the MTSI M&S community.

Responsibilities
Build familiarity with key M&S environments and frameworks
Support the continued development of statistical analysis techniques in ways that directly impact MTSI’s ability to execute current and future contracts
Develop mathematical models to assist in analyzing system performance and behaviors
Assist in performing verification and validation of simulation inputs, outputs, and results
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program with 2 years completed, or master's program at an accredited university, pursuing a degree in engineering, mathematics, operations research, computer science, or similar field
0+ years of experience with statistical modeling, applied mathematics, data analysis, or similar fields
Strong performance in courses relevant to applied mathematics, physics modeling, critical thinking, data analysis, and/or statistics
Strong communication and ability to work in a team
Self-motivated and able to work independently with help from experienced team members
Willingness to learn and adapt in a multidisciplinary environment
U.S. Citizenship required
Eligibility and willingness to obtain a Secret clearance
Preferred
Knowledge of modeling and simulation methodologies and tools (e.g. AFSIM, Suppressor, EADSIM)
Ability to execute a study plan, considering both high-level goals and low-level details of the analysis
Experience in programming with Python, MATLAB, C, C++, Java
Experience with object-oriented programming and principles
Familiarity with Monte Carlo simulations and related statistical methods
Some experience with Unity game engine and C# coding language
Knowledge of code versioning tools (e.g. Git, Mercurial, etc.)
Secret clearance or higher
