The role involves performing mammography exams, maintaining compliance with regulations, and ensuring a compassionate patient experience.

Responsibilities
Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations
Interacts compassionately and effectively with patients, providing a Five Star experience by reducing anxieties; provides explanations of procedures and equipment, and answers questions
Escorts patients from the sub-wait area to the procedure room
Explain the procedure to the patient before beginning the exam
Obtains the appropriate medical history required (patient and family) before the procedure is started
Explains comparative film review and obtains patient film release signature, as appropriate
Performs appropriate screening and diagnostic mammography exams
Completes all required billing and documentation accurately and timely in EHR and PACS
Performs bone density screening as assigned
Maintains the cleanliness of all radiology equipment and rooms
Maintains job knowledge by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and state regulatory requirements
Follows department timekeeping procedures
Works at the main campus and satellite facilities
Qualification
Required
Produces quality screening and diagnostic mammography films and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) exams
Educates patients regarding patient exams and accurately documents procedures completed and procedure codes
Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations
Interacts compassionately and effectively with patients, providing a Five Star experience by reducing anxieties

Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Radiology (R)
California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license, Radiography and Mammography
American Heart Association BLS
Required: Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) approved School of Radiologic Technology
