Database Performance and Tuning
Hardware analysis (Disk I/O, Network I/O, Processors, Memory)
Database Configuration Management
Database Capacity Planning and Monitoring
Troubleshooting
Wait State Analysis
Database Backups/Restores Technologies
Implementing New Database servers in a Virtual Environment
Database Design Skills including Normalization and Data Warehouse design
Strong TSQL skills
Strong analytical skills
Structured Troubleshooting Skills
SQL Query Performance Tuning experience
Log Shipping, Mirroring and Always-on technologies
Replication
Experience with Foglight and other 3rd party Monitoring Tools
Experience in the healthcare industry, a plus
Analyze, solve, and correct database issues in real time
Provide suggestions for solutions
Refine and automate regular processes
Track issues and document changes
Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
Minimize database downtime
Implement high-speed transaction recovery techniques
Provide 24x7 on call rotation support for critical production systems
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
