2+ years expDematic is looking for a Software Engineer to join their growing customer service team. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide remote, second-level customer support along with working on bug fixes and customer requested enhancements or changes.

Responsibilities
Assisting project and technical engineers in integration of new systems
Assisting technical and development personnel in application quality testing
Working on site to install, commission, and test installation of material handling solutions
Providing specified technical support to customers on-site, when assigned
Review Sales and Estimating Functional Specifications documentation
Ability to implement project customizations and configurations per design
Conduct quality testing and integration of updated systems
Perform installs, commission, and test application software as part of an integrated solution
You will conduct training for customers and key users
Continually work to identify improvements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
The ability to troubleshoot server hardware, Ethernet networks, and other peripherals such as printers
Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation during non-business hours
Flexible with working hours and working days
Review Sales and Estimating Functional Specifications documentation
Ability to implement project customizations and configurations per design
Conduct quality testing and integration of updated systems
Perform installs, commission, and test application software as part of an integrated solution
You will conduct training for customers and key users
Continually work to identify improvements
Understanding of software design principles and best practices
Practical experience with C and SQL programming
Practical programming experience in Java and related tools
Experience in Oracle and MS SQL databases
Experience delivering software systems in real-time environments
General knowledge of database design and programming experience
Knowledge and understanding of Linux operating systems
General knowledge of Web Services (SOAP, REST), Socket Programming
Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and TestRail
Experience with version control systems (GIT and/or Mercurial)
2+ yrs of software engineering experience
Preferred
Material Handling background is a plus
Proficiency in other programming languages a plus
Industrial automation industry experience (WMS or WCS) a plus
