Responsibilities
Launch Alpha's flagship Houston location: Execute Alpha's three core promises for 100 plus students from the outset with operational excellence in every area
Facilitate live workshops with K through 12 students on life skills: Conduct engaging one-hour sessions covering public speaking, growth mindset, and giving and receiving feedback. Follow Alpha's established playbook to ensure students develop skills that traditional schools overlook while enjoying the experience
Drive every student to 100 percent goal achievement: Create individual motivational models tailored to each student. Apply data-driven strategies to address resistance and sustain student engagement with the Alpha platform. Success is defined by every student reaching their objectives
Develop Guides to perform at the highest level: Leverage quantitative and qualitative data to pinpoint performance gaps. Provide clear, actionable feedback during coaching sessions and monitor progress. Maintain accountability across your team through logic and objectivity, not empathy that lowers standards
Lead campus operations through data-driven decisions: Evaluate performance across staff, operations, parent engagement, and culture. Identify issues, perform root cause analysis, engage stakeholders, and implement measurable interventions. Monitor each decision and refine strategies based on outcomes
Uphold excellence without exception: Establish and sustain Alpha's quality standards for students and staff. Make difficult decisions when performance does not meet expectations. Model the standard as the campus leader
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field
At least 7 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, business, or related field
Direct experience building and managing teams of at least 15 people with full hiring and firing authority
Deep knowledge of the Houston or wider Texas education landscape
Experience working with youth ages 5 through 14
Strong data analysis skills and experience using metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement
Passion for transforming education. Belief that the traditional system is fundamentally broken
Startup mindset: thrives under pressure, adaptable in new situations, comfortable building systems from scratch
Compelling and energetic speaker who commands attention from rooms full of students or staff
Able to relate to K through 12 students, understand their interests and culture, serve as a positive role model
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field
