Fiscal & Business Assistant

They are seeking a Fiscal & Business Assistant to provide fiscal and office clerical support for the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology, including maintaining fiscal records and assisting with purchasing and accounting functions.

Responsibilities
Maintains all fiscal records and documentation for the department by completing monthly ledger reconciliations
Initiates requisitions for purchases, initiates purchase orders (PO’s) for approval, and verifies invoices received, and reconciles these expenditures. Ensures that all invoices are paid in a timely manner and responds to inquiries regarding the status of requisitions, PO’s or goods/services received
Serves as the office receptionist by greeting guests
Responsible for the sorting of office mail
Assists other fiscal staff members as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Two or more years of experience in an office or administrative support position
Must remain up to date on University, State and Federal rules and regulations related to purchasing
Preferred
Associate degree/first two years of post-secondary completed
Two years of experience working in a university setting handling purchasing duties and/or accounting functions
Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word
Good communication and problem-solving skills
