Responsibilities
Oversee preventive maintenance programs, schedule repairs, and respond to maintenance issues to ensure safe and efficient fleet operations
Manage fleet maintenance costs, analyze maintenance data, and make financial decisions within department guidelines
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements, including inspections, insurance, and required documentation
Manage vendor relationships and support the purchase, lease, or disposal of trailers
Maintain accurate records across UniGroup systems, reconciling the fixed asset register with physical counts
Analyze fleet data to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize asset utilization, and support strategic decisions around purchasing, leasing, and retirement
Coordinate with operational partners to ensure trailers are available across assigned regions, including managing rentals when needed
Generate reports related to maintenance, asset performance, and fleet utilization
Support continuity of information across operational and accounting systems
Handle additional tasks as needed to support the department
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience
2–3 years of relevant work experience
Preferred
Experience in transportation, logistics, fleet operations, or asset management
Strong Excel skills, including working with spreadsheets and formulas
Comfort analyzing data to support cost control and operational decision-making
Experience tracking assets, costs, or maintenance schedules
Ability to learn financial concepts related to depreciation and asset lifecycle planning
