Responsibilities
Design, prototype, and test deployable hardware (hinges, releases, gimbals, actuators) using CATIA/SolidWorks/NASTRAN for satellite phased-array antennas, ensuring GD&T compliance and ESD/cleanroom standards
Perform root-cause analysis (8D/Fishbone) on vibration, thermal, and TVAC failures; iterate prototypes with carbon fiber layups, FEA validation, and hardware troubleshooting to achieve mission reliability
Scale from one-off cleanroom builds to high-volume production (6 satellites/month target), owning manufacturing drawings, vendor coordination, and integration timelines with occasional travel to Cape Canaveral and suppliers
Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams (mechanisms, structures, assurance) on end-to-end subsystem integration; mentor juniors and contribute to continuous improvement for constellation expansion
Qualification
Required
3–7 yrs hands-on space deployable (hinges/releases/gimbals/actuators on real hardware)
GD&T + RCA on hardware failures (vibe/thermal/TVAC)
