Supplier Industrialization Engineer Intern (Summer 2026)

Responsibilities

Lead and participate in discussions on DfX (Design for X) with internal and external stakeholders for outsourced parts and assemblies
Facilitate communication and clarification of the product specification package for parts and assemblies between the supplier and Peak Energy to ensure that the supplier is set up for success
Manage the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and systems to ensure the supplier complies with all the requirements of the Peak Part Approval Process (PAP)
Assist the supplier with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) Implementation to ensure quality issues are investigated thoroughly, and necessary actions are taken to prevent the recurrence of the issue
Identify and drive process improvement projects at suppliers to improve quality, cost, and delivery metrics
Help the Peak Energy GSM Team identify potential suppliers and assess suppliers through qualification assessments and performance reviews

Required

Proficiency in 3D CAD Software (CATIA preferred)
Ability to read Engineering Drawings, with a good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Understanding of traditional & non-traditional manufacturing processes (Machining, Injection Molding, Sheet Metal Stamping, 3D Printing, PCBA Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electromechanical Assembly, Wire Harness Assembly, etc.)
Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) & Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
Understanding of Problem-Solving Frameworks (8D, A3, Pareto Analysis, etc.) & RCA/ CAPA Techniques used within these frameworks
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment that is highly cross-functional and in a constant state of evolution
Be a student pursuing graduate/ undergraduate studies in one of the following concentrations: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Mathematics AND have experience designing products or manufacturing processes through 1+ internship(s), or full-time work in one of the following fields: New Product Introduction, Project/ Program Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality/ Industrialization, Metrology, Industrial Engineering, or Strategic Sourcing
