Responsibilities
Facilitate 2–4 live virtual debate sessions per week that maintain intensity, encourage interaction, and center on active student debate participation
Prepare tournament-ready students using mock rounds, focused drills, and individualized feedback calibrated to their format and approach
Deconstruct complex concepts in argumentation, cross-examination, and rebuttal technique into accessible, structured lessons
Support research efforts and evidence development so students construct more robust cases that reflect current topics and competitive standards
Develop and iterate on reusable instructional resources, topic summaries, and evaluation criteria that elevate program-wide quality
Qualification
Required
Documented elite debate accomplishment (awards, rankings, finalist results) and/or demonstrated success coaching students or teams to competitive wins
Minimum of 6 months teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience with documented outcomes
Comprehensive understanding of competitive debate structures, judging standards, and tournament protocols
Capability to deliver compelling, camera-ready virtual instruction with commanding presence and clarity
Availability for 5–10 hours weekly in a fully remote capacity
Dependable internet connection and professional-grade video and audio equipment
Portfolio, performance records, or credentials that validate competitive debate background
