Engineering Student Assistant I-IV (Geothermal)

NCPA is seeking an Engineering Student Assistant to assist in performing various types of basic engineering work assignments at their Geothermal Facility in Middletown, CA. This position provides hands-on experience in engineering, database applications, and project management, along with opportunities to tour power plants and present findings to leadership teams.

Responsibilities

Gathering, compiling, tabulating, and reporting statistical data
Assisting in research projects, special reports, and special projects
Compiling requests for proposals and bid documents
Organizing electronic and hard copy drawings and construction plans
Assisting with warehouse inventory counts
Responding to inquiries and requests for assistance
Performing related duties as assigned

Required

Academic status at an accredited college or university taking courses as a full-time student leading to a Civil, Mechanical, Petroleum or Environmental Engineering degree or a degree in a field related to the work which is performed
Knowledge of General Engineering Methodologies in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum or Environmental discipline
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, database familiarity, general computer skills
Knowledge of Recordkeeping and organizational methodologies
Knowledge of Office equipment and systems such as phones, copiers, scanners, and email
Ability to use research techniques, methods, and procedures
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to collect, compile, analyze, interpret, and present statistical data
Ability to routinely work outdoors in severe weather conditions, walk up and down steep slopes, and climb ladders with a 25-pound pack
Valid California Driver's License and insurance required

Preferred

An interest in working in the power industry or green energy
