Responsibilities
Facilitating 1-hour outdoor life-skills workshops (public speaking, focus, leadership, teamwork) using nature-based challenges and adventure-style programming
Conducting focused, high-impact motivational sessions in which you coach students toward academic objectives using adaptive software platforms
Animating curriculum through storytelling, customization, and creative delivery that sustains high engagement among K-12 learners
Implementing safety protocols and exercising outdoor judgment (route planning, weather assessments, equipment inspections, Leave No Trace principles) according to Waypoint's field standards
Evaluating skill mastery by having students demonstrate practical application of life skills in authentic contexts
Maintaining a rigorous standard of excellence while serving as an approachable, inspiring role model students genuinely admire
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in any field
At least 3 years of professional experience with K-12 students in educational, camp, coaching, or outdoor program settings
Documented history of high achievement in academic, athletic, or professional domains
Strong public speaking skills with the ability to energize and maintain attention across large student groups in both indoor and outdoor environments
Innate capacity to connect with K-12 learners, their interests, and their culture—not as a peer, but as a constructive role model who challenges them to develop
Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
Commitment to working on-site at Waypoint Academy's campus in Dripping Springs, TX (near Austin)
Preferred
First aid or wilderness safety certification
