Responsibilities

Own and maintain the Aerospace QMS in compliance with AS9110
Obtain / Maintain various National Aviation Authority certificates such as FAA, EASA
Work with various customers to ensure quality requirements are met
Ensure procedures, work instructions, and records are current, controlled, and effectively implemented
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, certification authorities, and customer audits
Plan, lead, and participate in internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits
Manage nonconformances, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and effectiveness verification
Ensure timely closure of audit findings and continuous improvement initiatives
Oversee inspection activities (incoming, in-process, and final inspection) to ensure conformity to engineering and customer requirements
Review and approve First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102
Support production, engineering, and supply chain teams in resolving quality issues and driving defect reduction
Develop and maintain supplier quality requirements and performance metrics
Lead supplier audits, evaluations, and corrective action activities
Collaborate with Supply Chain to improve supplier performance and reduce risk
Analyze quality data and KPIs (scrap, rework, escapes, customer complaints)
Prepare and present quality performance reports to leadership
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using CORE methodologies
Train and mentor quality staff and cross-functional teams on quality standards and best practices
Promote a proactive quality culture focused on prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement
Support new product introduction (NPI) and process changes to ensure quality is embedded from the start

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of quality experience in an aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environment, OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience

Preferred

3+ years in a leadership or management role within a quality department in the aviation industry
Prior experience with test, assembly, disassembly, and other engine maintenance/overhaul procedures
Strong working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001, and FAA/EASA regulations
Experience leading audits and managing corrective action systems
Proficiency with root cause analysis tools (primarily 5 Why)
Quality certifications (CQE, CQA, ASQ, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt)
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and electronic QMS platforms
Background supporting both production and development environments
