Responsibilities
Review various estate planning documents including trusts, wills, and personal care documents with the ability to summarize in memo or flowchart form for internal or client use
Review legal documents related to various trust related transactions including sale and purchase of real estate, corporate and business formation, transfer, and termination and other contracts related to trust owned assets
Conduct research on state statutes and case law, estate planning and income tax issues, state domicile questions, and other legal issues related to trust and estate administration
Prepare internal documents related to client needs
Assist with administrative functions including summarizing, scanning, and filing various client planning documents
Assist family wealth team and wealth strategists in preparing client materials
Learn and leverage Baird’s planning software tools
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree with a preferred GPA of 3.5 or higher
Entering 2nd or 3rd year of law school in the Fall of 2026
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity, accuracy and professionalism
Strong prioritization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while collaborating with a virtual team
Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to learning and taking on new responsibilities
Preferred
Undergraduate degree in accounting and/or finance preferred; CPA a plus; interest in pursuing LLM a plus
Familiarity with financial markets, investment concepts, or basic economic principles is a plus
