The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources is responsible for managing the state's natural and cultural resources. They are seeking an Assistant Site Manager to lead interpretation and visitor services at the Fort Dobbs State Historic Site, overseeing staff and conducting tours as part of the visitor experience.

Responsibilities
Act as Site Manager in absence of Site Manager
Oversee recruitment and supervision of volunteer and temporary interpretive staff at Fort Dobbs State Historic Site
Assist Site Manager with creation of monthly reports and analysis of visitation and sales data
Assist Site Manager with planning and coordination of special events, school programs, and interpretive tours
Conduct tours and interpretive demonstrations as part of visitor services
Assist with development and public operations of Shallow Ford State Historic Site in Lewisville, NC
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in history or a field specifically related to the site of employment from an appropriately accredited institution
an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred
Experience with public speaking to audiences of varying ages
Experience with living history demonstrations and familiarity with living history best practices
Experience working with non-profit boards and fundraising organizations
Experience supervising at least three volunteers or part-time staff members
