Responsibilities
Project Oversight: Direct and manage projects to achieve high standards of quality, adherence to schedules, and budget goals. Ensure timely completion by overseeing and coordinating all project activities
Design Execution: Develop and update design documents, including one-line diagrams, electrical plans, and specifications. Use engineering software for tasks such as ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, load flow, and short circuit analysis
Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with customers, project teams, and management to ensure smooth project execution. Prepare and manage project schedules and budgets, addressing any deviations promptly
Standards Compliance: Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI) and utilize the document management system effectively
Problem Solving: Identify potential project issues and provide solutions. Travel as required for project needs and perform additional duties as assigned
Travel: Undertake short-term travel as required by project assignments
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution, with a preference for a focus on power systems
Minimum of 5 years of experience in high voltage (230kV and above) electrical substation engineering and design
Advanced understanding of high voltage electrical substation components, AC/DC fundamentals, and three-phase power systems
Proficiency in engineering software for design and analysis tasks
Ability to produce and interpret design documents and drawings necessary for project execution
Proven ability to supervise a technical team and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Competent in word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications
Preferred
Familiarity with GIS is a plus
