This position plays a key role in supporting our multi-state U.S. communities and involves overseeing payroll processing, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with various departments.

Responsibilities
Oversee and assist the payroll team in processing accurate and timely payroll for U.S. and Canadian team members across multiple entities, states, and provinces
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and provincial payroll regulations, including tax filings, remittances, and reporting
Review and audit payroll runs for accuracy, ensuring proper deductions, garnishments, benefits, and timekeeping data
Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and Operations to maintain data integrity between systems (e.g., UKG Ready, Payworks, OnShift, Yardi)
Support the transition and integration of new communities into existing payroll systems
Manage and resolve complex payroll inquiries while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Prepare reports and assist with reconciliations, audits, and year-end processes (W-2, T4, ROE, etc.)
Stay current on changes to U.S. and Canadian payroll legislation and communicate updates to the team
Provide leadership, training, and support to payroll specialists to ensure consistent processing standards
Qualification
Required
2+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state and multi-province processing
2+ years in a payroll leadership or supervisory role
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and provincial payroll laws and reporting requirements
Experience with payroll systems such as UKG Ready and Payworks (or similar platforms)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills
Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-location environment
