Responsibilities
Perform and lead engineering design tasks for infrastructure projects from conceptual design to final design
Develop plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates
Possess excellent in-depth knowledge of roadway design software tools including MicroStation and OpenRoads
Mentor and develop new engineers in transportation and highway design
Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients
Perform technical analyses and reviews of infrastructure projects
Support Project Managers to ensure projects meet the defined schedules, cost estimates, and performance/technical measures and specifications. This includes development of Project Management Plans, Scopes of Work, Cost Estimates, and other project management related activities
Assists in preparing and developing proposals, presentations, reports, and studies
Performs other related duties as assigned
This position will also have the opportunity to work on CTA’s transformative Red Line Extension Design-Build project over the next few years
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering required. Preferably in civil, transportation engineering
4+ plus years of experience
Licensed PE in the State of Wisconsin
In depth knowledge of MicroStation, Open Roads, and Civil3D
Strong technical design background in highway design and transportation engineering
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians
Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
