Responsibilities
Maintain an existing book of farm and commercial business and develop new business which is both profitable and reasonably stable for the company
Determine what risks the company will assume, the premium to be charged for the risks assumed, and the policy terms and conditions under which the risk will be assumed
Maintain underwriting discipline by underwriting new business, renewals, and changes while maintaining an acceptable loss ratio
Maintains a professional and courteous working relationship with the underwriting department, agency force, customers, and home office personnel
Maintains acceptable standards with regards to time management and production
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree or 5 years insurance experience and CPCU designation required
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to make independent decisions (analytical in nature)
Ability to convey ideas to others
Ability to learn quickly
Possess basic mathematical skills
