Sr. Director, Global Risk Management
CBRE is the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, and they are seeking a Senior Director of Global Risk Management to lead the organization’s risk management strategy. Responsibilities
Lead the global enterprise risk vision, strategy, and execution, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and recognized standards (ISO 31000, COSO)
Champion a unified, enterprise-wide risk culture by educating leaders and driving consistent operational risk practices
Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership Team and present to the Executive Risk Council and senior leadership forums
Implement and evolve the ERM framework, policies, standards, processes, and controls across segments, markets and lines of business. Ensures that the plans are comprehensive, cohesive, and effective globally
Facilitate annual risk assessments with functional and regional leaders
Own and modernize the Enterprise Risk Register, building dashboards and analytics for executive use
Partner with data teams, business leaders, and functional leaders to build predictive KRIs and early-warning indicators aligning with risk appetite
Aggregate risks to the Enterprise level for executive and Board reporting
Advise on major initiatives including M&A, market expansion, transformations, and strategic planning
Provide risk guidance for major internal programs to ensure proactive mitigation
Build trust-centered relationships with senior leaders, auditors, and business partners
Oversees and manages coordination across lines of business globally and manages the relationships with the internal and external stakeholders
Prepares and delivers presentations to all levels of management including the Executive Risk Committee and Leadership Conferences, including Segment/Market Leaders and Strategic Account Leaders
Serve as the senior risk ambassador across the enterprise, influencing without direct authority
Ensure systems, processes, and controls meet regulatory and internal requirements
Drive continuous improvement toward higher levels of risk maturity and operational consistency
Identify and escalate gaps in policy adoption and control design
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or related field
A minimum of 12–15+ years in risk, audit, controls, reporting, compliance, and enterprise governance
Advanced organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure with a proactive approach to routine and non-routine occurrences
Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems
Significant experience advising and influencing C-level executives
Proven ability to integrate risk frameworks in diverse business environments
Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management, and/or public groups
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues
Preferred
Advanced degree (MBA/MS)
CRM, ARM, PRM, CPA, CFA, or CIA preferred
Strong proficiency in GRC software (e.g., ServiceNow, AuditBoard) and data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI)
