Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the design, bidding and construction of public works projects
Manage floodplain development
Provide engineering design services for some City projects
Provide technical expertise on plan review and use of proper procedure and interpretation of City requirements to ensure conformance with the City’s development standards
Provide recommendations relating to engineering plans, specifications and reports on improvements and new construction for the City
Development and implementation of engineering design standards, ordinances, and procedures
Responsible for implementation of capital projects
Develop, implement, and monitor professional services
Evaluate and respond to technical inquiries from inspectors, consulting engineers, developers, and contractors
Review exhibits and descriptions for easements and right of way acquisition
Conduct site inspections as necessary for projects at all phases of construction
Evaluate and respond to public, inter-departmental and city official inquiries
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field and Ten (10) or more years experience in civil/municipal/public works engineering
Licensed in State of Texas as a Professional Engineer or have the ability to obtain Texas registration within six (6) months from the date of hire
Demonstrable experience in leading and supervising multiple staff
TFMA certification as Flood Plain Manager or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months from the date of hire
A valid Texas Driver's License and acceptable driving record
