They are seeking a Developer 1 to join the Digital Technology Solutions UI/UX team, where the successful candidate will design, develop, and test software applications to meet the needs of faculty, students, and the community.

Responsibilities
Maintain integration with university systems using enterprise Java technologies
Develop back-end solutions to help meet the university’s business core systems’ immediate and long-term goals and objectives
Work with Front-End Developer to extend university’s selected content management system components and functionality
Integrate solutions with other university and external third-party applications
Work on tasks of moderate complexity in support of projects
Work independently and as a team member in support of team, division, and university-scoped projects
Perform quality assurance and troubleshoot issues by reading logs, running tests, and communicating with IT@UC system administrators
Participate in project planning process
May help prepare estimates and operational requirements
Assist with technical design specifications
Maintain appropriate documentation and code commenting
Assist in the development of user guides and training documentation for systems
Perform script maintenance and updates due to changes in requirements or implementations
Assist with setup and maintenance of test environments for both manual and automated testing
Assist with building and validating automated and manual deployments and perform regular testing
May participate in the development of contingency plans including reliable backup and restore procedures
Perform related duties based on departmental need
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized education can be used in lieu of education requirement
Experience with Java EE components and services, JSP, OSGi, Apache Felix, JCR, Quartz, and the XMLHttpRequest/XMLHttpResponse cycle
Experience with JavaScript, JCR-SQL Querying, HTML, CSS/LESS
Understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
Preferred
Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar enterprise Sling-based CMS
Experience with Sling Models, Granite UI, Coral UI
Bash or similar shell-scripting, Ruby
Git version control, Bamboo, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery
Experience with Atlassian Jira and reporting time
Experience with version control systems, such as Git
Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CICD)
Experience with testing methodologies, such as unit testing and integration testing
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Understanding of AEM's templating architecture to extend and override foundation and core components and to build new front-end components and templates
Leverage AEM clientlibs structure to optimize delivery of compiled styles, scripts and 3rd party frameworks and libraries
Write & maintain custom servlets, services, and other server-side components to handle dynamic content generation and processing
Develop within AEM dialog (Coral and Granite UI), parsys, and inheritance systems to deliver optimal results
Utilize Apache Sling, Java Use API to build out back-end framework for successful component development
Utilize OSGi, Maven, and CRXDE to manage and deploy packages and bundles
