Assistant Director of Transformative Training & Practices

The Assistant Director of Transformative Training & Practices is responsible for creating, curating, and facilitating training and professional development focused on community care and transformational practices for staff, faculty, and students.

Responsibilities
Organize and facilitate 1-3 campus wide community-responsive trainings and professional development offerings tailored to the unique needs of staff, faculty, and students each year
Manage logistics and recruit presenters for Equity Professional Development Day, a campus-wide professional development day centered on community-responsive education and equity issues
Lead administrative and programmatic support for Educational Equity (EEQ- a required course for tenure-track faculty), QTPOC Symposium (a day-long conference for staff & faculty across the Washington State College System), and other 1-day conferences or trainings with external facilitators based on emergent needs
Manage, develop, and monitor budgets and expenditures for programs to ensure compliance with college policies and other administrative procedures
Build and leverage strategic partnerships to support community-centered training across campus
Conduct research on data-informed practices for transformative, community development training in higher education in partnership with regional and national professional associations
Collaborate with HR, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Restorative Practices team, and other campus departments to lead and/or consult on training offerings to fill gaps in community support, based on campus needs and strategic transformation
Partner with key campus stakeholders and other community colleges to identify training needs, topics, and content areas
Audit and provide strategic guidance in the content development of training initiatives focused on institutional transformation efforts
Advance external partnerships by leading and directing community-responsive and transformative professional development opportunities that extend to external partners
Develop and manage external vendor and contractor relationships
Collaborate with student-facing departments and organizations to explore student-centered community needs and develop offerings
Address ad hoc requests and special projects as necessary
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited college. Any combination of relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis
Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in developing, leading, and managing trauma-informed, equity & inclusion-based training initiatives, with a demonstrated ability to cultivate strategic partnerships and coalitions
Demonstrate an understanding of systemic harm and false beliefs in systems of human hierarchy in higher education, utilizing advanced facilitation skills and various learning modalities
Demonstrate understanding of organizational, individual, and team dynamics
Proficient in data assessment, tracking and analyzing to identify institutional professional development needs and design/evaluate training opportunities using institutional data
Demonstrate skills in event/conference management, and effective written/verbal communication with a focus on inclusive language, addressing the unique needs of faculty, staff, and students
Demonstrate experience in managing and monitoring budgets
Demonstrate experience in collaborating with cross-departmental groups to accomplish college-wide goals
Demonstrate experience working with diverse colleagues and students in a collaborative and inclusive environment
Proficient with learning management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
