3+ years expThe Brick is actively seeking to expand our management team. The Operations Supervisor will ensure proper training and development of staff while overseeing day-to-day operations in the distribution center.
Retail
Responsibilities
Ensure staff members are properly trained and retrained according to training guides and procedures
Develop employees through coaching, goal setting, conducting performance reviews
Initiate and implement programs and procedures required to ensure DC safety and cleanliness in all zones
Ensure all equipment is in good order and ensure employees perform pre-shift checks
Maintain labour budget and cost per unit; assist the manager in planning and scheduling labor daily
Understand and oversee the day-to-day operation of the Customer Pick Ups, Return to Vendor, Chair Assembly Departments as well as be responsible for clerical functions throughout the building; communicate and liaise with stores as required
Promote employee involvement in employee relations and safety committees
Train and develop employees, identifying and mentoring high potential candidates
Ensure compliance with all Brick Group policies and procedures while achieving departmental goals through effective staff management
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education an asset
Minimum 3 years' experience in a diverse work environment. Experience in Dispatcher WMS would be an asset
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Working knowledge of materials handling equipment and safe material handling techniques
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
Self-motivated, high energy and a strong work ethic
Superior planning and organizational skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Experience in Dispatcher WMS would be an asset
