LCCF Assistant Director for Project Operations
The University of Texas at Austin is a leading supercomputing center that supports advances in computational research. The Assistant Director for Project Operations will lead day-to-day project operations for the NSF Large-Scale Computing Facility project, overseeing budget, schedule, and change management functions.

Responsibilities
Develops and implements cost control systems; manages budget execution and prepares variance analyses; makes budget decisions within approved thresholds and escalates decisions above threshold with analysis and recommendations
Establishes and maintains schedule milestones and performance metrics; approves schedule adjustments within established parameters and escalates significant changes with recommendations
Reviews and dispositions change requests within delegated authority; prepares higher-impact requests for project review with impact analysis and decision recommendations
Implements the project Risk Management Plan, maintains the risk register, and brings risk assessments with recommended responses for project discussion
Coordinates with work package leads to ensure execution aligns with approved scope; identifies execution issues and escalates with recommended actions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience managing executive operations
At least five years of experience in strategic relationship management with various stakeholders
Demonstrated experience managing reporting and tracking for federally funded grants
Demonstrated experience in complex grant development
Must be eligible to work in the US on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship
Preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage distributed multi-site teams
Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative teams in cross-disciplinary environments
Evidence of complex proposal development and writing
Exemplary and well-established leadership capabilities
Proven effectiveness in both written and verbal communication

Retirement Plan Eligibility: The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
