Workers Compensation & HR Generalist

Parallel Employment Group is seeking a dynamic Workers Compensation & HR Specialist to lead efforts in Workers’ Compensation, Risk Management, Safety Training, Benefits Administration, Payroll, and Employee Relations. This high-impact role blends hands-on strategic oversight of injury prevention, employee support, and regulatory compliance.

Human Resources

Responsibilities

Review and process workers’ compensation incident reports and First Reports of Injury within three days
Evaluate claim compensability and oversee claim investigations
Consult with medical providers, adjusters, and insurance representatives
Ensure claims are managed in alignment with verified incident details
Track settlements, prepare for hearings, and maintain compliance documentation
Provide OSHA reporting and injury documentation to clients
Guide office staff in supporting injured employees’ recovery and treatment
Manage return-to-work (light duty) programs
Conduct new client site evaluations to verify environmental safety and employee well-being
Track injury trends, coordinate safety tours and audits, and analyze injury data
Maintain OSHA logs and report safety metrics
Facilitate workers’ compensation claim reviews
Recommend updates to company policies to support safety objectives
Conduct and coordinate safety training for staff and assignment employees
Maintain and update safety manuals and orientation materials
Organize OSHA 10-hour certification training annually
Perform on-site safety evaluations and training sessions for clients
Coordinate open enrollment for employee insurance benefits
Administer health, dental, vision, life, and other benefits
Assist with 401(k) administration and payroll contributions
Prepare new hire paperwork, conduct orientation, and benefit training
Process bi-weekly payroll using HRIS and Kronos
Reconcile insurance invoices and payroll deductions
Maintain accurate employee files and HR records
Oversee COBRA notifications and compliance
Support FMLA requests and maintain leave records
Respond to unemployment claims, E-Verify requests, and employment verifications
Investigate and resolve employee complaints
Provide backup support to internal staff at the branch level

Required

Proven experience in Workers' Compensation, HR, payroll, and benefits administration
Strong understanding of employment law, workers compensation law, OSHA, and return-to-work programs
Knowledge of OSHA, ERISA, WC law, and Return-to-Work programs
Experience managing claims and working with insurance providers is required
Excellent critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality
