WILDLIFE AND FISHERIES TECHNICIAN A-C POINTE COUPEE
NEOGOV is the employer for this position, which involves working within the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. The Wildlife and Fisheries Technician A-C will be responsible for various duties including data collection, management activities, and maintenance of Department facilities and equipment in support of wildlife conservation efforts.

Responsibilities
The incumbent will collect data used in establishing management or research programs and setting regulations, participate in management activities, including planting food plots, conducting prescribed burns, boundary marking, and managed hunts
This position will participate in necessary construction and maintenance activities on Department buildings, grounds, roads, levees, equipment, camping areas, and water control structures
Utilize, maintain, and transport equipment such as boats with outboard motors, ATV/UTV’s, tractors with implements, excavators, and motor graders
Participate in lethal and nonlethal collection and sampling of wildlife species for management and research
The incumbent will transport injured or nuisance animals in addition to performing any other duties as directed and necessary for the agency to accomplish its mission
Qualification
Required
No experience or training is required
Moderate to strenuous physical exertion is required for such activities as climbing, lifting objects over 50 pounds, crouching, or crawling in restricted areas or in inclement weather
Weekend work, overnight stay, and overnight stay is required, as well as day and night work on boats are required
A criminal background check will be required of all selected applicants
Any degree, certificate, special license, or DD-214 must be verified by official documentation prior to hire
