Network Modelling and Simulation Engineer

Responsibilities
Lead/participate in multi-disciplinary engineering teams in development and analysis of future network architectures and requirements
Analyze and simulate complex network architectures and protocols
Engage in systems architecture definition, development, analysis, modeling & simulation, and prototype development/validation
Innovate through specialized technical studies and internal research and development (R&D) projects to develop the next generation of Space and Ground network concepts, architectures, and technologies
Coordinate tasks in technical meetings for SSC, NRO, and Civil & Commercial customers working with a diverse team comprising military officers and Government civilians, prime contractors, SE&I contractors and other FFRDCs
Evaluate and develop multiple access communications or engineering technologies
Support development and sustainment of core network simulation, emulation, and modeling capabilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum of 6 years of experience in data analysis, OSI and TCP/IP models and in network design, analysis, and modeling & simulation
Deep knowledge of routing and switching protocols
Experience in software development in Python or C/C++
Ability to present results effectively in briefings and technical reports
Willing to travel, as needed (up to 10%)
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
Preferred
Expert level knowledge of network testbed development
Experience with network emulation/simulation
Work with inter-satellite cross-links and laser optical communication technologies
Military and commercial satellite communication systems and network engineering
Possess a current and active U.S. Government Security Clearance – Top Secret level
