Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) Internship - Summer 2026

The intern will assist the GRC team with day-to-day activities and special projects related to corporate compliance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

Responsibilities

Assist with data collection and analysis, documentation, and ad-hoc projects related to governance, compliance, and risk management topics
Analyze data in connection with regulatory requirements
Assist with point-in-time third party risk assessments, dashboards, and reporting
Support CME Group’s effort to develop innovative enhancements by suggesting ideas that improve internal processes
Assist with efficiency and automation efforts
Assist and support Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team members with additional special projects

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong understanding of Google Workspace products, Gemini, Python, Tableau, and Google Looker
Effective problem-solving skills
Ability to understand and absorb business & risk concepts quickly
Ability to work with individuals at all levels within the organization
Passion for learning new skills, technologies, and passionate about conveying knowledge
Local to Chicago Summer 2026
Hybrid Schedule - able to come into the CME Group Chicago office (located at 20 S Wacker)
Able to work 40 hours per week (interns are required to work a minimum of 16 hours per week with a maximum of 40)

Preferred

Experience in financial markets (e.g. exchange-based, OTC, FCM, brokerage house) preferred
Knowledge of derivatives, trade lifecycle, clearing, risk, or post-trade processing preferred
