Litigation Legal Assistant
Permanent Placements LLC is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to join their established litigation support team. The role involves preparing and managing litigation documents, coordinating with attorneys, and ensuring that all deadlines are met in a professional and structured environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare, edit, file, and manage litigation documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, and correspondence
Handle state and federal e-filings with confidence and accuracy
Manage calendars, court deadlines, depositions, mediations, and trial logistics
Coordinate with attorneys, docketing, and administrative teams to ensure deadlines are met
Maintain client files, open new matters, run conflicts checks, and manage file lifecycle
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
Participate actively in a collaborative team environment with shared workflows and accountability
Use workflow and document management systems to manage volume efficiently
Qualification
Required
Minimum five years of civil defense litigation secretarial experience
Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules and procedures
Trial, arbitration, and mediation exposure
Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a team environment
Advanced proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, iManage, InTapp, Chrome River, and Adobe
Comfort with workflow platforms such as BigHand or similar tools
Exceptional organization, judgment, and attention to detail
Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage competing priorities
Professional presence and strong client service instincts
