Hematology/ Oncology - Grand Rapids - MD/DO
University of Michigan Health-West is seeking a full-time Hematology/Oncology Physician to join their expanding cancer care team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide exceptional care to patients with hematologic malignancies and participating in clinical research.

Responsibilities
Coordinate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a positive experience for all patients, families, and staff
Play a key role in providing exceptional care to patients with hematologic malignancies, including leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, and advanced practice providers to develop individualized treatment plans
Conduct and participate in clinical research, contributing to the advancement of malignant hematology
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging therapies and clinical trial opportunities for patients
Educate and mentor medical students, residents
Develop strong relationships with patients and their families, providing emotional support and guidance throughout their treatment journey
Participate in tumor board meetings and provide expert consultation to other healthcare providers
Academic hybrid model of care
Expansive Cancer Network serving much of the West Michigan region and Lake Michigan shoreline
Extensive Primary Care referral network
Full complement of ancillary support staff and programs; Infusion, Care Management, Social Work, Nurse Navigation, Nurse triage, Research, Clinical Trials Laboratory, Pharmacy
Qualification
Required
MD/DO degree
Board certification in Hematology/Oncology
Ability to work closely with a multidisciplinary team
Experience in providing care to patients with hematologic malignancies, including leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma
Ability to conduct and participate in clinical research
Up-to-date knowledge of emerging therapies and clinical trial opportunities
Experience in educating and mentoring medical students and residents
Strong relationship-building skills with patients and their families
Participation in tumor board meetings
Experience working with culturally diverse patients
Preferred
Fluency in any of the following languages: English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Nepali, and Bosnian
